Miniature Time Traveller Magazine Issue #18 21 KITCHEN CHAIRS You will need: An old cotton reel A plastic cap 1 mm card from box from the pantry 3.5 x 12cm. A few pegs PVA glue and a glue stick. A piece of material 4.5 x 16 cm & some wadding. Now to assemble: • Mark your card strip into 4cm pieces and fold one toward the other and glue. Clamp it with a peg until dry. • Fold a 5 mm hem inward on your strip of material and glue down with the glue stick to the card, inserting a bit of wadding into the seat and back if liked. • Fold the material over and glue down over the previous glued hems. Neaten the top of the back by folding the material back and gluing flush with the top of the chair. • Glue onto the top of the cotton reel and you are finished! • They are easy to make and you should perhaps make four. In the next issue you will be able to make a great dining table. You will need to look for a little box like the ones soup stock cubes come in. And an old drink coaster. But we can make our own top as well. Other items you can use to make chairs: An old hose joiner and a lid. Glue the lid onto the top of the hose joiner and stick the seat onto this. Enjoy!
