Verna Stanhope in Levin was the inspiration for the children’s project. Here are two she has made. There are lots of good ideas for repurposing common bits and pieces from around the home in her rooms. Verna cut out the chair seat from a plastic bottle. Her table legs are from cut down pens and the top is a lid off a container (perhaps margarine) The inside of your room display can be totally you. Your colours, your dolls, the odd dog or cat! It is up to you. On this little tray are plastic caps turned into the stems of a pot plant or a table. The pot is a plastic cap with lace glued on to it and painted. The base of the table is a button, the plastic cap, the top, a large button and then all painted brown. Braid is used for the mat and runner. Below on the left is a bit of whimsey made of pieces you may recognize and on the right, a collection of repurposed items. Many thanks, Verna Miniature Time Traveller Magazine Issue #18 22
