www.miniaturetimetraveller.com Miniature Time Traveller Magazine Issue #18 8 The point of difference about this bed design is the way the base is treated. A wood tray is made, that the mattress can either fit into or on top of. Your choice. The ends are glued to the head and food board and pinned with brads, which gives good stability. These beds can be sturdy enough for little fingers to play with, as well as larger ones. The design is a good basic shape which can be adapted in many ways. The only limitation is your imagination. 1. Photocopy the pattern twice. Cut out the headboard extending the full height. Cut out the foot board as is. Glue these to your wood, MDF or card prior to cutting. Glue stick is good for this. It is easy to remove later. 2. Make up the base using a good wood glue. You can cover it with material or paint it. 3. Paint and decorate the head and foot board as you wish. This one is quite restrained! 4. When all is as you want it, glue the base to the head and foot boards. Drill holes through the head and food boards into the ends of the base. Put some glue on the brad and insert. Now you are ready for the fun part—dressing the bed.
