Welcome to the inaugural issue of The Miniature Time Traveller magazine I am one of many New Zealanders who are involved in the skillful and fascinating pastime of making all things miniature. My name is Jill Fraser. I have been making miniature houses and items for about 20 years. Currently Miniature magazines are all based in the UK or USA and although the content is fascinating for those of us who love all that is Victorian, Edwardian and older, there is a sad lack of workshops and houses that might appeal more to our Antipodean minds . We have a wealth of clever people in New Zealand and Australia who make all manner of small scale treasures and produce amazing work. Going forward these will feature in the pages of this magazine from Cape Reinga to the Bluff. We have a large number of regional Miniature Makers Clubs and a National Miniaturist Body, the NZAME and a strong sisterhood with the Australian Miniature Clubs. I started with a blog (see www.miniaturetimetraveller.com ) and a small idea grew into a big one! Mac is my little Traveller. I hope the workshops and articles appeal and inspire you all.
