The roof tiles were very well done, each cut out individually and glued in place, being twisted and crumpled in the process. Modellers grass was used to give the mossy look. While attics are the repository of all old and unused items we can’t bear to throw away, Wim wanted to have another layer going on outside the top of the house, A few bats, a spooky figure, a dragon on the roof. And the black cat! He brought most of these at a Discount shop. Inside the devil is in the detail. All the detritus of a busy life. Wim has gathered together items from his stash, pieces that had been patiently waiting for years for their day in the sun (so to speak). Old paintings, newspapers, an old bike, even an empty bottle of beer. Golf clubs, sewing machine. We recognise old friends who have ended up at the top of the house. And the rest of the club members will also be doing the exact same thing. As Wim was born in Holland, he put a miniature pair of clogs in the attic as well. I hope he will make these his user signature. So, even though he didn’t get to use one of Janet’s frames, he has created an Attic masterpiece and at the same time, got his Halloween theme going, early. Clever! The Attic owner?
