Mi The drawing of the front of the house shows the door to the right of the two front windows. However, our unknown miniaturist has already made an executive decision to make the door central. And I, a relative newcomer, have decided it needs to have an imposing entry, and have cut it bigger with my trusty electric jig saw. A double front door has been printed on my 3D printer. This will be attached to a wooden frame that will stand proud of the façade. Rounded columns will also feature. This will involve another base for the floor to sit on so I can have steps that lead up to the front door. This is a open backed house. However, this always makes positioning of staircases problematic. If you have them facing the back, it means the front door will open to a hallway where you can’t see the staircase. If you have it facing the front door you see the back underside of it when you view the inside of the house. If you do a sideways one, where does it go sideways to? This requires some serious thinking. The only identification of this kit was a little mention of an “Acorn dollhouse kit”. There is a Canadian company called the Little Dollhouse Company, who still manufacture these type of doll house kits. Yet to be verified. Above: 3D printed front doors. Below: the inspiration.
