Issue 52 February 2026

Miniature Time Traveller 21 Back in the April 2024 Issue was a story about a Scottish 12th scale house ending up quite unexpectedly in New Zealand. Christine Neil put her hand up to save it and it now lives in a rural property north of Masterton. Christine was talking about putting hydraulic lifts in the roof to make opening this rather heavy part, more easy. This has been done. And quite a lot of work has been done on the outside. Windows have been sanded and painted and shutters have been installed. Making flowers and plants is a special interest of Christine’s and all the front windows now sport window boxes. The sharp eyed among you will notice that Christine has recycled cat food containers for the window boxes, making them more special with a tiny decoration on the fronts. As Christine’s Miniature Club had their Christmas meeting on her property, ‘Roseville’ had to join in the fun with some flashing Christmas lights. In it’s wildest dreams this house would never have thought it would celebrate a Christmas in sunny warm weather, or be bedecked with flashing Christmas lights. It’s original owner would have been quite astonished. If only these houses could speak!! Roseville House, a Scottish treasure.
