The balustrades and the hand rails were installed and the return up to the next floor was started on. A nice little picture was pasted on the back of the stairs just for interest. Normally the stairs would be hard up against a wall. This was all so exciting that the stairs were glued between the hallway walls before it was realised that the stair runners were not in place. Bother! Not to be daunted some spare stairs were brought into use and the stair runner, a piece of suede carpet was folded and pleated before the awkward task of glueing it into place. With a bit of an eƯort it was all achieved and some brass stair rods were made and glued there also. At this point it has to be said they would have been a lot straighter if they had been installed before hand. Lesson learned! 24 Miniature Time Traveller
