Project: Sewing a pair of fashionable women’s shorts. Any fashionable young lady in the 1930s would have a tailored pair of shorts. You will need: A piece of beige cotton. Scissors, needle and thread. Fray Check or a thin mixture of PVA glue and water to seal raw edges. Step 1. Photocopy the pattern below. Use as a pattern on your material. Cut out. Stap 2. Sew in darts. No escape here. You have to sew the darts, right? Step 3. Glue the hems of the legs at this stage. Step 4. Place front long curved sides right sides facing and stitch or glue the seam. Step 5. Place the back seams together and sew a seam of about four stitches below the placket. Step 6. Place the inside leg edges together and sew or glue the seam. Step 7. Turn the right side up. Feed your dolls legs into the legs of the shorts. Pull up. Have the placket on the back. Fold back the placket edges and invisibly stitch the edges together with a running stitch while on the doll.
