A friend of mine has an amazing collection of doll houses accumulated over 50 years. Her ojective was to save these house and put them in a museum. This is set up in her garden. Over 50 years she has brought and been given some very early dollhouses including some from the Line Bros. and Triang ranges. From simple tin houses to rather heavy home made jobs, her criteria has always been to collect the special ones. You will see more of these in issues of the magazine to come. Just a little taste now......

Most miniaturists know about Triangs and this is a fantastic Stockbrokers Tudor style house (1930) complete with garage and bathroom that one little girl must have been over the moon to recieve.

This house had the stove, sink, dresser and bathroom built in. The cellulose dolls came from another house. The little girl who owned these dolls called them her Hoppit Family. Very cute! And this is what you realised, looking at this large collection over 50 years. These dollhouses were PLAYED in, by little girls and perhaps boys who absolutely loved them. My friend has saved a rather big slice of childhood history. Well done her!
