Hello everyone!
Over the last few months we have become increasingly aware of the dated nature of our website. So today we began looking at potential changes; new images, less verbage, etc. In doing that, we quickly realised third party perspectives would add heaps of value. Hence this post. We would appreciate any thoughts you have and would like to share. Any feedback, good or bad, will assist us in this endeavour. One of our major objectives is to use the website to sell subscriptions. With that in mind, the site gets a lot of traffic, but not a lot of folks sign up. Any ideas you have on why will help also. Lastly, we are about to add a section to our website on miniature hints and ideas for our YouTube channel members. Your suggestions on how to optimise interest there to would be very valuable. With best wishes to all, Jill & Roger.

I think an image or two would go a long way here, especially if the purpose of the site is to sell subscriptions…people would like to see before they buy?
Best
Sharon
Thanks Sharon. I was thinking along similar lines. The site is very text focussed and not a lot of imagery. Also a bit tricky to navigate. Appreciate your thoughts.
Hello, I have been trying to log in to your site but when I request a new password the email never arrives.
My email is valento@btinternet.com
I would very much like to subscribe to your digital subscription but alas I can’t! I live in UK but lived in NZ for many years so am interested in what is going on in Miniature worlds in the Antipodes.
Hi Val, lovely to hear from you, and appreciate your follow up on subscribing. I have your email address from the comment below, so I’ll email you there with more detail on subs. Regards, Roger
I think what you are doing so far is very good. I enjoy the magazine and find it useful. I especially like longer tutorial type videos on youtube as I find them helpful. I loved the one on birds Jill, it was such fun. Have been recovering from surgery so haven’t done as much but will be getting back to mini-ing soon. I also wondered if you are doing any church vignettes. Thank you for all you both are doing.
Hi Debbie, thank you for the feedback. We very much appreciate it. I have been thinking what I do after my ‘Year in The Life of a Miniaturist’ video diary concludes after Day 365!! And Tutorials and handy hints are starting to emerge as a likely focus. I can’t just stop my YouTube channel entries can I! Regards, Jill.
Oh, one thing I thought of–don’t move too fast when filming especially at conventions. It is hard to take in and can almost make me sea sick 🙂 when filming goes up and down at a fast rate. I appreciate all the hard work that goes into all of this, nonetheless.
And Hi again too!
I have mentioned to Roger the feedback on convention filming speed. I think he feels the vidoe will be too long if he films more slowly, but your point is a very good one, and I know most miniaturists want to see more detail, not less. And, we cannot make you sea sick when you on dry land!! Regards, Jill.
